The VDE Institute is now registered as a recognized testing and certification authority with the Arab energy authorities FEWA (Federal Electricity and Water Authority), ADWEA/ADDC (Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority) and DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) as well as with the standardization organizations ESMA (Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology) and SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization). Recognition involves the safety assessment of components, products and systems for electricity generation, distribution and transmission in the low, medium and high-voltage ranges. This registration means that VDE-tested products are now also approved for use in systems for energy supply and energy utilization in the United Arab Emirates as well as in Saudi Arabia.
