Entering personal data

If you give us your personal details in an input mask on the website in order to access information or to make any other requests, we use this data exclusively for the purpose of providing you with any information you request. We will inform you every time and request your consent in each case. If you decline to give your consent, we regret that you will not be able to access the service in question. The same applies to optional newsletters.

Cookies

Any time you log in using your user name and password, this starts a session. Cookies need to be placed in order for us to identify you individually throughout the session.

The cookie we place contains no personal data, merely a random identification number. When you close the browser, this cookie is automatically deleted and is not stored on the hard disk. It also becomes invalid if, for 30 minutes or longer, you visit pages not requiring a log in, or if you log out. If you log back in to our site using a different browser, the previous cookie also becomes invalid. If the cookie has expired, you are requested to log back in again.

Right to object

The data necessary for processing requests etc. is stored and, if required, it is forwarded to third parties. In processing your data, any sensitive details are protected by legal requirements.  At all times you have the right to reject such use of your data or to retract your consent.

Linked sites

We would like to stress that we have no influence over the content of external websites which are linked to ours. Hyperlinks to such websites in no way suggest that the VDE approves of their content.  If such external websites feature content which offends against common decency or is illegal we shall delete the links to these websites from our own site as soon as any such violation is drawn to our attention. This data protection declaration does not extend to other providers. We have no influence over whether operators of such sites adhere to the data protection provisions.
